There are many weight loss recipes out there to the point where anyone who is the least bit interested, can switch a fat laden, grease heavy diet into one that is healthy and will promote weight loss. Most of us don’t get enough protein in our diets, which consist of more carbohydrates and sugar than anything else, and we wonder why we are a society of heavy people. Eating more raw vegetables will go a long way as well in helping to curb our appetites, as well as providing vitamin rich nutrients with plenty of the minerals that we need in our diets too. The following are some good weight loss recipes that will taste good.
Texas Chicken Burgers - combines ground chicken with zucchini, green onions, chili powder, carrots, cumin, and ground red pepper. You make patties from the ingredients and fry them in a saucepan and place them on a bun with sliced tomato and lettuce, making for a delicious, low calorie meal. Served with a side dish of baked beans, this is a real winner.
Curried Chicken and Mango Salad – Remove the skin from the chicken, pull the chicken meat. Mix in a large bowl yogurt, mayonnaise, lime juice, chutney and curry powder. Stir in chicken, apple, celery, mango, and cilantro until well mixed and coated. Arrange lettuce leaves on platter, and spoon the chicken on top. Makes for a great tasting meal.
Pasta Primavera – Heat 6 quart saucepot of water to boiling and cook the pasta, then drain. Then in a 12 inch skillet on medium, heat oil, add onion and garlic, cook 2 to 3 minutes until golden. Add grape tomatoes, asparagus, zucchini, water and salt. Cover and cook 5 minutes, stir in beans and chopped carrots. Make a great tasting meal.
Red Lentil and Vegetable Soup – Using a 4-quart saucepan heat oil on medium until it is hot. Add chopped carrots and onion, cook 6-8 minutes. Stir in cumin, cook 1 minute, then add broth, tomatoes, lentils, 2 cups water, pepper and salt, cover and heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer 8-10 minutes, stir in spinach. Very tasty, and filling.
Sesame Shrimp and Asparagus Stir-Fry – Toast sesame seeds in vegetable oil, add asparagus, tomatoes, soy sauce, and stir in sesame oil. Cook the shrimp separately, about a pound, and mix into stir-fry mix. Makes a tasty, low calorie meal.
There are many low calorie, tasty recipes that can be found very easily. You would be surprised how filling a good Caesar salad is with chunks of chicken in it. Properly prepared, vegetable laden dishes are very rich and filling, and it is a way to eat less red meat. If you do tend to eat less red meat, be sure to supplement with more fish or chicken to be sure that your protein intake stays on a level that you need. If we can cut down on the carbohydrates and sugar, we not only can have a healthy diet, but we can lose weight as well by eating from these weight loss recipes.
