Perseverance

I contracted shingles when I was only 12 years old and it began and spread on the left side of my head and face. It was painful, irritating, and embarrassing. I considered myself lucky for it to be hidden behind my hair, but being a kid and still trying to endure/focus in school was an everyday challenge. I was fortunate enough for it to be caught early and was treated with extensive antibiotics. If I can give anyone advice about shingles it could be to not be ashamed or embarrassed because it is beyond your control and is a medical condition. It is treatable and cannot control your life. I send best of luck to everyone who has shingles!
