Fancy Fruit Energy Smoothie
1 cup Papaya, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 cup Mango, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 Nectarine, seeded and chopped
½ cup fat free milk
½ cup plain fat free yogurt
1½ tbsp honey
4 Ice cubes
Papaya or Nectarine slices (optional)
In a blender container combine papaya, mango, Nectarine, milk, yogurt and honey. Cover and blend until smooth.
With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through the opening in the lid. Pour into 2 tall glasses. If desired, garnish with papaya or Nectarine slices. Serve immediately.
Makes 2 servings.
Papaya Tips: Choose papaya’s that are partially yellow and feel slightly soft when pressed. The skin should be free of bruises or soft spots and smooth. A firm unripe papaya can be ripened at room temperature for 3 to 5 days until mostly yellow or yellowish orange in color. You can store a ripe papaya in a paper or plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Cranberlicious
1 cup cranberry juice
1 cup white grape juice
1 cup raspberries
Pinch of raw sugar
4 ice cubes
In a blender combine cranberry and grape juice, raspberries and sugar. Cover and blend until smooth.
With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through the opening in the lid. Pour into 2 tall glasses and serve immediately.
Makes 2 servings.
Tropical Paradise Smoothie
½ rip mango, peeled and chopped
1 passion fruit, peeled and diced
1 banana, chopped
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
In a blender combine mango, passion fruit, banana and orange juice. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
Blueberry Banana Blast
½ cup ripe blueberries
1 small Banana, chopped
2/3 cup unsweetened apple juice
In a blender combine blueberries, banana and apple juice. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
Berry Magic
¼ cup raspberries
¼ cup strawberries
¼ cup blueberries
1 banana
5 oz low fat strawberry yogurt
1 cup unsweetened orange juice
1 tbsp honey
In a blender combine raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and banana together. Once smooth add yogurt, orange juice and honey. Blend until well mixed. Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
Creamsicle
1 cup orange juice
1 cup carrot juice
1 ripe mango, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 peach, sliced
½ cup low fat peach or mango yogurt
In a blender combine orange and carrot juice, mango, peach and yogurt together. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
Apple and Strawberry Slushy
2½ cups ripe strawberries, roughly chopped
½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
¼ cup water
2 tsp vanilla syrup
2-3 ice cubes
In a blender combine strawberries, apple sauce, water and vanilla syrup. Blend until smooth.
With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through the opening in the lid. Pour into 2 tall glasses and serve immediately.
Summer Smoothie
6 ripe apricots, pitted and chopped
2 peaches, pitted and chopped
1 tangerine, skin and seeds removed
3-4 ice cubes
In a blender combine apricots, peaches and tangerine slices. Blend until smooth.
With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through the opening in the lid. Pour into 2 tall glasses and serve immediately.
Happy Days
1¼ lb watermelon wedge, skin and seeds removed, cut into chunks
2 cups strawberries, chopped
1 cup pitted cherries, roughly chopped
4 ice cubes
In a blender combine watermelon chunks, strawberries and cherries. Blend until smooth.
With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through the opening in the lid. Pour into 2 tall glasses and serve immediately.
Tropical Soother
1 papaya
½ medium cantaloupe, skin and seeds removed, chopped
1½ cup white grapes, chopped
3 ice cubes
In a blender combine papaya, cantaloupe and grapes. Blend until smooth.
With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through the opening in the lid. Pour into 2 tall glasses and serve immediately.
