Hi,

Today we are going in a slightly different direction and focusing on an aspect how we feel and what those feeling mean to our overall health and wellbeing.

This month we review Mid Life Crisis an dig a little to understand what that means and how such feelings can effect us.

Life is changing so much, things are moving more quickly, technology is becoming more involved with everything we do, and when we stand back and look at our lives we can wonder where our own lives are going.

The old days of joining your farther or mother's profession and staying with it all your life have past now. Most people change their careers many times across their working lives.

Personally, I was going to leave my little country town, get a university degree, and do different things.
I got the place at uni but took a year off to work with the government as a clerk and take time to consider what I really wanted to do.

At the end of the year I had decided I did not want to work in a big organization and came back to my little country town and joined our family business in photography: weddings and portraits, retail photographic gear and framing, etc.

Soon I was running the business and it was all very interesting but, things change.
' After 20 years I could see that digital photography was going to change everything.
I could see that traditional photographic businesses where going to have a very hard time.
I looked around at other things I could put beside by photographic business for separate income streams and ended up looking at health and nutrition.

I knew someone who was very successful in the Herbal.life business and we talked about creating an additional income stream that way as I wanted the products for myself anyway.

I found products worked, talk with people, and a year later my Herbal.life business was paying me more than my photographic business so I was able to change directions and do a lot of international travel in a new career.

Midlife crisis is about not being happy with how life is going and what might be in the future.
My solution was to find a different direction. If you are interested in investigating that option of nutrition yourself talk to me.
Whatever your interest is though, finding something new and challenging that interests you and opens up new experiences is one of the major ways to bring new energy and new life into everything you do.

4 scoops peppermint ice cream
1 1/2 cups milk
2 drops peppermint extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Midlife Crisis: The Causes and Signs

Aging isn’t for sissies, and a midlife crisis is often catalyzed by the recognition that one is aging.

A midlife crisis typically happens between the ages of 35 and 60.

Women experience this phenomenon at an earlier age than men.

A midlife crisis is a crisis of purpose and identity.

It’s a lack of satisfaction.

5. Children growing up and leaving the home.

When you’re a parent with kids in your home, raising your children takes a lot of your time and attention. When they leave, that can leave a gaping hole in your life.

6. Aging or death of peers or parents.

Most of us outlive our parents, and we expect to outlive our parents. When your parents die, you realize that at some point they were the same age you are now. It becomes painfully obvious what’s in store for you down the road.

7. A birthday. It might be your 40th, 50th, or 60th.

Many people view a certain age as “old”. When you finally hit that age, you can suffer from a midlife crisis.

There are a variety of potential causes of a midlife crisis. The cause isn’t as important as dealing with the crisis effectively.

Regardless of the triggering event, the result is the same. It’s time to take control of your life and make the most of it. These can be the best years of your life!

1. A belief that your life lacks meaning.

What is EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing - Psychotherapy Treatment?

Its purpose is one that’s intended to relieve stress and other negative feelings that can be caused by traumatic memories.

This can be living through a traumatic event yourself or witnessing it happen to someone else.

There are three different parts to the EMDR therapy that can be a help to people.

The first part is dealing with the events and memories that are responsible for the emotional problems you’ve been experiencing.

In this first part of dealing with the events, you’ll learn how to create new links that you can associate with the events and memories.

EMDR therapy works in that it can have you feeling safe and in control in your environment rather than afraid and feeling like the world is not a safe place for you to be in.

The second part that can help people who use EMDR techniques is targeting the present situations that might provoke your distress.

During the sessions, while you’re going through the phases, you’ll be doing work designed to desensitize any external and internal triggers you may have.

Many people have certain triggers that will cause them to feel as powerless and scared as they were at the time the actual event took place.

The person can feel like he or she is actual back in the event or seeing it again.

EMDR can help you overcome the emotions and issues that are connected with that. The third part involves using imagery.

What Problems Can Be Helped by EMDR?

There are several problems and symptoms that can be handled by using the teachings of EMDR.

Extremely traumatic events such as sexual and physical abuse can be successfully treated.

Rape victims can find relief from the traumatic memories through the techniques offered. Child traumas can also be treated by using EMDR.

Experiencing the death of a loved one can be difficult.

Not everyone grieves in the same manner.

Losing someone that you care about can be a traumatic event that can cause people to become stuck.

EMDR can also help you overcome the trauma of losing someone that you love.

There are other traumatic events that can require the need for a treatment like EMDR.

If you witness a terrible trauma or the abuse of someone else, it can affect you emotionally.

6 Hobbies For Physical Health

It’s an appealing idea to embody the Vulcan words of farewell, “live long and prosper.” However, navigating the creation of a long, healthy, and prosperous life can feel overwhelming, or worse, tedious.

To combat this, it helps to make things that are good for us both accessible and fun. To that end, the following six hobbies for physical health have you covered.

1. Dance

Incorporating dance into your life can be an organized event, such as taking a class, attending salsa night at a Latin club, or heading to a concert.

However, it can also be more impromptu, like putting on music that gets you moving and dancing like no one is watching. Regardless, it will be good for you.

A study for Complementary Therapies In Medicine found that exercise is as good as drug interventions for reducing the risk of overall mortality.

In addition, they found that dance was a more enjoyable, easier-to-maintain, form of exercise that helps people to lose weight, improve flexibility, gain muscle tone, improve cardiovascular health, and convey social/emotional benefits.

2. Cycling

You can ride a cruiser, invest in a peloton, downhill race, road bike cross country, or some other variation on the theme.

There are many ways to cycle and each of them offers health benefits, a community of like-minded enthusiasts, and an enjoyable way to move your body.

3. Couples Yoga

Yoga is good for you. Few would bother to argue that point. In this case, the more can definitely be the merrier. There are postures you can try with a partner that would be impossible alone. Plus, the social aspect reinforces relationships, another key component of overall health.

4. Running

The wonderful thing about running is that you can do it anywhere. All it takes is you, a pair of shoes, and the will to get going. When running in a new place, you see it in ways that you couldn’t otherwise. It’s immersive and personal.

There’s also a meditative quality to it, an awareness of breath, gait, and environment that can firmly plant you in the present, enriching the moment and your life as a whole.

5. Swimming

This is an activity that provides it all: challenges, intensity, myriad variations, low impact, and immersion in a fundamental element.

In addition, there is something comforting about being in the water, perhaps an unconscious reminder of the womb.

6. Birding

Being in nature has been proven to benefit the mind, body, and spirit. When you add to this experience the mindful awareness of another species, the benefits multiply.

In a simple sense, you create a kind of treasure hunt as you attune your eyes to picking out new feathered friends.

Each additional identification deepens and broadens your perception of the world around you. This connection increases your capacity to care for yourself and others by expanding your scope of care. Inclusiveness is good for everything.

Making play out of the physical activities you engage in makes them more enjoyable and hence more sustainable over time.

It doesn’t matter what you choose to do, what’s important is that you keep moving.
